Late last year Thomas Cook bought out the CO OP’s travel business retail stores, significantly enhancing their presence on the high street. This resulted in an urgent need to rebrand all of these new outlets to bring them under the house banner and firmly establish the Thomas Cook brand as ‘the best in travel’.
Following a competitive tender Omega Signs were brought in to survey the entire estate within the 3 week time schedule, including two stores in Northern Ireland. For each of the 50 sites schemed up visuals, based on the Thomas Cook brand guidelines, were required and approval sought before manufacturing and installation could begin.
For the majority of sites the agreed design was a new fascia with projector signs however it was clear that on the bigger sites there was a greater opportunity to really maximise the impact of the brand. Many of these stores had large window expanses and it was agreed that the premium travel credentials of the brand could really be enhanced by installing huge vinyl posters of idyllic beach scenes.
In some cases the window areas were up to 11 metres long and 2.4 metres high requiring up to 6 large vinyl posters to fill the space. Printing and installing posters of this size required real attention to detail but as always Omega rose to the challenge and, by combining high spec images from Thomas Cook and utilising our high quality print vinyl machines, the clarity of the finish is truly stunning and the impact.
