Superdrug is the second largest Health and Beauty retailer in the UK and has over 800 branches across the UK. Bold and colourful it has a strong brand identity and reflecting this, both instore and out, has always been key.
In 2019, in line with the brand refresh, stores across the UK were updated and, in the North, Omega Signs have played an instrumental role in implementing the refreshed internal and external signage. In Gainsborough, for example, 2 illuminated fascia’s with 2 illuminated flex boxes were installed to create a dramatic store entrance. A vibrant and energetic instore interior was then achieved by using Spiritex graphics. Images of the bold and fierce individuals, featured in the advertising, were situated above the till, beauty and healthcare areas and, by installing well-placed illuminated spot lighting, the dramatic effect the client was looking for was achieved.
In other stores similar techniques have been used to visually communicate the brands broad offering such as their pop up treatment areas and pharmacies with consulting rooms. At Wakefield Trinity Walk, for example, the in nurse clinical zone was entirely covered in green vinyl to ensure clear communication of the space. Externally the glass window, which runs across the entire entrance of the store, now features the new brand fascia. This was a particularly delicate job but is a technique which Omega Signs has particular expertise in.
Jamie Coleman from Omega Signs said “This has been a great project to manage. It has involved real attention to detail and strong communication with all the parties involved but seeing the end result really makes it worth-whiled.”
