Fuller’s The Castle Inn

Case StudyFuller’s The Castle Inn

we have recently completed a range of really innovative signage designs for fuller’s including the castle inn at ealing. fullers were looking for a sign that really matched this vibrant local pub and built on its brand image. all our designs originate from our in house design team and they came up with the idea to replicate a 3d castle chess piece. the 2d visual looked really striking but the challenge was to find an innovative manufacturing solution to build this into a sign. by skillfully carving the material and then spray painting the castle the 3d piece came to life and is now a striking feature of the pub.

traditional sign writing skills

sign making has changed so much over the past 15 years. the traditional processes of sign writing and gold leaf work can not be rushed. the processes are carefully chalked out and stencilled up and then the special paints are applied with delicate brushes by hand. it takes real attention to detail by time served craftsmen.

managing director, duncan chapman added “of all the processes in the factory the one that fascinates all our customers during their visits is the gold leaf area. people are amazed at the care and attention to detail that our people use –many competitors have let these old skills die out so our customers think it’s great to see this work in action!”
